Copy editing is one of the last steps to take before publishing. A copy editor will do basic fact checking and check for spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors. They will also either work with your current style sheet, or create one for you, which takes note of characters, places, anything particular to your story, and any stylistic specifications you want to keep in your manuscript.Proofreading is the final process for your manuscript before publishing. A proofreader will read your manuscript in it's final format prior prior to being sent for publication and will make spelling, punctuation, and formatting corrections.
